The British Embassy in Cairo hosted a football tournament on Sunday for a group of refugees welcomed by Egypt.
The embassy posted on its Facebook page that the football match was held for a number of young refugees in the garden of the embassy under the slogan “Small spaces bringing joy: football for refugees in Egypt.”
The online post said that Migration and Refugee issues top the international agenda, and that the UK is among the top five countries receiving refugees from Egypt.
The UK has committed 0.7 percent of GDP on international development assistance, and is the second largest donor after the USA, providing 2.5 billion euros since 2012 in support of countries in the Middle East dealing with migration.
