Witnesses in Tahrir Square say thugs and plain clothed policemen have taken up positions outside of checkpoints surrounding the square where they are confiscating medicines and food that people are bringing to the square to feed thousands of protesters exhausted from the fighting that began Wednesday afternoon and continued well into the hours of Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses report an instance of food being thrown into the Nile.
Two people, trying to enter the square, were seen arrested by policemen.
