A passenger train collided with a cargo train in Beheira on Wednesday afternoon, leaving 10 dead and 15 others injured, according to initial reports.
Head of Beheira Security Directorate Alaa Abdel Fattah told Extra News Channel that two wagons were separated from the passenger train, colliding with the cargo train. Abdel Fattah reported deaths and injuries in the incident.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Khaled Megahed said the initial death toll was estimated at 10 people, while 15 people were injured.
He added that 30 ambulances were dispatched to the scene to transfer the wounded to hospitals.
