Bomb defused in Minya high school

A bomb combat squad and police in Minya defused an improvised explosive device (IED) on Monday morning, after a student found it inside a high school toilet in the neighborhood of Deir Mawas.

Initial investigations show that the IED was found to have six 15-cm fingers connected to an electrical circuit.

The bomb was defused and both students and teachers were temporarily evacuated from the school building.

Students were later allowed back in class in order to continue their exams.
