The Palestinian resistance announced Monday that the bodies of “handcuffed martyrs” who had been buried alive by the Israeli occupation army have been discovered, exposing the atrocities Israel committed during its storming of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City.
Reports from Anadolu news agency stated that after the Israeli occupation army withdrew from Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surroundings, the scope of the destruction that befell the place was revealed.
Medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that hundreds of bodies were found inside the complex.
The Palestinian News Agency Wafa reported that the Israeli forces had completely withdrawn from inside Al-Shifa Hospital and the residential neighborhoods surrounding it, heading towards the areas south of Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood and southwest of Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses reported that the withdrawal revealed that Israeli forces burned all the buildings of Al-Shifa Hospital and made it completely out of service.
Various medical sources explained that the Israeli army completely destroyed floors in the specialized surgery building and burned the rest of the building.
It burned the main reception and emergency building, and destroyed dozens of rooms and all the medical equipment in it.
The kidney and maternity buildings, morgues, and outpatient building were also damaged.
Dozens of corpses were found in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and in the streets of Omar al-Mukhtar, Ezz al-Din al-Qassam, Abu-Hasira, Bakr, and Haboush surrounding the hospital.
Witnesses also explained that Israel’s forces destroyed the temporary cemetery that citizens had set up in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex, exhuming the bodies and dumping them in different areas of the hospital.
Israel’s forces also reportedly burned and destroyed many homes and residential buildings in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, which includes thousands of residential units.
The occupation forces stormed the Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its surrounding areas earlier in March and carried out a massive military operation there, resulting in dozens of dead and wounded, and hundreds of arrests.
