
The chairman of the Administrative Prosecution Authority has referred nine senior officials in Beni Suef Health Department to an urgent trial following the death of two toddlers who were given a faulty drug.
Five-month-old Rahma Abdellatif and 11-month-old Marwa Ahmed Gomaa died at Baba Central Hospital and Ehnasia Central Hospital in Beni Suef after they were given a rehydration solution that caused them cramps and fever.
Similar incidents occurred in Beni Suef hospitals in 2015 after toddlers were given dehydration solution and later died.
