President Mohamed Morsy's twitter feed reached the one million mark one year after he signed up to the site when he was Freedom and Justice Party chief.
Satirist TV host Bassem Youssef, with 1,240,000 followers, comes after Morsy, who has1,260,000 followers.
After Youssef was ordered be arrested by Public Prosecution, Youssef tweeted saying that the best response to such crackdown on freedoms is to unfollow Morsy, so he can exceed his number of followers.
