“Barbie” continues dominating amongst foreign films at the Egyptian box office, raking in LE546,000 on Monday.
Set in the world of Barbie Land, the film breathes new life into Mattel’s Barbie dolls through a star-studded cast including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Dua Lipa, Issa Rae Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans, and more.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the 114-minute film sparked controversy over whether it should be shown in Egyptian theaters due to its 18+ content in some scenes.
