ElBaradei to return to Cairo, start collecting signatures for new party

The office of Mohamed ElBaradei, the Nobel prize-winning former head of the UN nuclear watchdog and one of the architects of the newly-founded Constitution Party, said that ElBaradei will return to Egypt from Austria on Tuesday night.

The office denied claims that “ElBaradei has indefinitely postponed his return to Egypt.”

Ambassador Shokry Fouad, founder of the Constitution Party, said that ElBaradei will hold meetings with revolutionary youth and political leaders as soon as he returns to discuss how to resolve the country’s current state of crisis and the formation of a civilian presidential council.

The Constitution Party has begun collecting signatures of support for the formation of the party. The party has formally notified the Parties Affairs Committee and presented notarize documents relating to the founders of the party. The deputy founders are ElBaradei, Ambassador Sayed Kassim al-Masry, Ahmed Harara and Ahmed Darrag.
