Azhar University issued statement calling for urgent investigation over the death of two students, Abdullah Ahmed and Ahmed Abdel Hafez, during protests on Sunday.
The statement expressed disappointment over incidents of smashing vehicles and clashes between the students and residents of the sixth district in Nasr City as the protests were staged from the university campus and spread off campus.
Protests, however, did not reach the vicinity of the university dorms.
Clashes broke out on Sunday among the Muslim Brotherhood students and security troops leading to the death of two students.
