The Egyptian Zakat and Charity House of al-Azhar sent 15 trucks loaded with large amounts of humanitarian and food aid to the Gaza Strip.
The aid arrived at the Rafah border crossing on Tuesday accompanied by the Executive Director of the Zakat House and former Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.
A source indicated that aid was delivered to the Egyptian Red Crescent in North Sinai, in preparation for its entry into the Gaza Strip and its delivery to the Palestinian Red Crescent.
The Egyptian Zakat and Charity House was established in 2014, and is subject to the supervision of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
The objectives of the House include disbursing Zakat funds in their legally prescribed forms, spreading the spirit of solidarity and compassion among members of society.
