The Civil Aviation Ministry in Egypt issued appealed to all customers traveling on airline flights to Baghdad, Erbil and Jordan to review their reservations until developments are studied and updates are announced, following the Iranian missile attack on Israel.
The ministry assured in a statement on Tuesday evening that Egypt’s airspace is safe and operating normally according to the highest safety standards.
The ministry also referred to coordination in place with neighboring countries in light of the closure of their airspace by Jordan and Iraq, coinciding with an Iranian missile attack on Israel.
It confirmed “Raising the state of maximum readiness at the Cairo International Airport due to the possibility of aircraft crossing the airport’s airspace landing in the airport in light of the closure of airspace by some neighboring countries.”
The ministry confirmed that there is continuous follow-up to the developments of the current situation and they will be announced as soon as they happen.
