The Ministry of Civil Aviation denied claims spread on social media reporting the crash of an Egyptian airplane which left no survivors.
The ministry said in a Monday statement: “We would like to stress that this news is completely false.”
“The Ministry of Civil Aviation calls on all media outlets and social media users to be careful and cautious before publishing or circulating any news or information that may cause confusion and anxiety among citizens.”
It also urged citizens to only rely on official media statements issued by the Media Center of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
