Civil Aviation Minister Hossam Kamal announced on Tuesday that the Air Cairo Company will operate a new line between Hurghada and Georgia.
He discussed during a meeting with Georgia's ambassador to Egypt and head of the Air Cairo company, Yasser al-Ramni, that 28,000 seats would be made available throughout the summer to encourage tourism between the two countries.
The Georgian ambassador thanked the minister for providing a regular line linking the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, and the tourist city of Sharm el-Sheikh until October of this year, through which 15,000 passengers have already passed.
Air Cairo will operate four direct flights from Tbilisi to Hurghada starting 2 June, the minister said.
Georgia has a population of 5 million people. It is bordered by Turkey, Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
