Civil Aviation employees continued their protest in front of the ministry today to call for the dismissal of newly-appointed Civil Aviation Minister Ibrahim Manna.
Several protesters distributed leaflets about the privileges and "unbelievable" salaries top officials in the ministry and its affiliates receive.
Employees from airports joined the protest to call for the trial of former Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company Medhat Hendawi for violations he committed while in office. They also called for the trial of the current chairman, Youssri Gamal al-Din, saying that they will continue their protests until Prime Minister Essam Sharaf heeds their calls.
Magdi Abdel Hadi, former head of the Air Controllers Union, said the protest did not present professional demands for better financial or working conditions, but rather was "part of the 25 Janaury revolution, which ousted several of the corrupt figures in Egypt."
He added that the revolution against corruption has not yet addressed corruption within the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Ministry employees had previously prevented several heads of companies from going to their workplaces, and said they will not allow them to continue in their positions because of their alleged corruption.
