Security officials on Wednesday apprehended two vehicles carrying more than 100 weapons from Libya to Marsa Matrouh, according to Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal Eddin.
Authorities confiscated 102 rocket-propelled grenades, 20 cross-continent rockets, three anti-aircraft guns and 19 improvised explosive devices. They detained one suspect and are interrogating him, the minister added.
The ministry has frequently announced interceptions of smuggling attempts since the outbreak of the January 2011 revolution.
