During a meeting with Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy, Australian Ambassador to Cairo Neil Hawkins said his country is interested in using the grains logistics center in Damietta for exporting wheat to Africa.
The center is aimed at transforming Egypt into a global hub for the storage and handling of 65 million tons of grain per year.
Hawkins also said that he would invite Australian businessmen to invest in the center
For his part, Hanafy mentioned a number of projects which would be implemented on the project site, including storage silos and five industrial investment zones for flour, bran, soy, oils, feed, corn, starch and pastries.
