The head of the Central Auditing Organization (CAO) said today that the authority will reopen Tuesday to resume its monitoring work.
A fire broke out at the CAO last week. The officials at the CAO said the fire was deliberately started to destroy reports on corruption that were to be submitted to the Attorney General.
Gawdat al-Malt said he had gone to his CAO office in Nasr City to submit corruption documents to the Attorney General and other investigatory authorities.
He also urged the Armed Forces, Prime Minister and Interior Minister to secure the CAO and protect its important documents.
