The customs department in Badr city, Cairo thwarted on Saturday an attempt to smuggle huge numbers of police uniforms to Saudi Arabia, an action which is banned by law as it is illegal to import or circulate official police uniforms.
An informed source from the customs authority said that while finalizing exporting measures for an import/export company that was to export 217 parcels of clothes and Egyptian products to Saudi Arabia, 19 parcels containing 1,500 police pullovers were found.
Legal measures were taken and a police report was filed. The confiscated items were seized and the company was referred to authorities for investigation.
