Attack by unidentified gunmen injures 3 Tahrir protesters

Dozens of unidentified men entered Tahrir Square on Thursday from Abdel Moneim Riyad Square in cars and on motorcycles as protesters were preparing to hold a small meeting in the square’s center to discuss preparations for a mass Friday protest dubbed “Imposing our will Friday.”

The thugs stormed the square early Thursday carrying firearms and melee weapons. The fired shots in the air and clashed with protesters, injuring three.

The protesters managed to seize a number of weapons from the men, which they said would be delivered to the Interior Ministry.

Meanwhile, one of the protesters said the planned protest was being organized to demand that the new constitution is not written under military rule and to bring attention to the need to establish a leadership that can represent the revolutionaries and speak in their name.
