Association calls for a national center for inventors

The Egyptian Society of Young Inventors called for the establishment of a national center for inventors that provides feasibility studies to materialize inventions and serve the economy.

Chairman Heba Ahmed called for legislation that facilitates the marketing of scientific inventions and exempts equipment necessary for researches from customs duties.

She told the Middle East News Agency that the government should provide an infrastructure for inventors and encourage businessmen to adopt their projects.

She added that an exhibition for inventions created in Egypt at costs lower than their counterparts abroad is held this month at the Egyptian Red Crescent, including a device to disinfect and treat water by laser beams of multiple wavelengths, a device that converts toxic gases into fertilizers, invented by Osama Abdel Qader, a device that prevents butane gas cylinders from exploding, by Hossam Mowafy, a robot minesweeper by Mahmoud Baz and a fire detector by Tarek Mahmoud Sayed.

She said the association has 700 inventors from Egypt and Arab countries, and aims to include inventions in development projects.
