EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton is scheduled to meet with Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi, a diplomatic source from the European commission in Cairo said.
The source added that after meeting with Arabi, Ashton will meet with ambassadors of EU countries in Cairo to brief them on the outcome of her meeting with ousted President Mohamed Morsy, and exchange views on the political situation in Egypt and the role of the EU in bolstering the democratic transformation in Egypt.
Ashton met with Morsy on Monday afternoon upon her request and following the approval of authorities. After the meeting, which lasted two hours, Ashton only said that Morsy was in good condition and being treated well.
