Artist ‘draws’ with clothes

For a while Mahmoud Wahid, a Saudi graphic designer, used to drop his clothes all over his room without knowing that those clothes would one day reveal a hidden talent. Two months ago, he was cleaning up his room when he noticed that the clothes formed an interesting motif. He then decided to begin 'drawing' with clothes.

“I drew a picture of myself and posted it on Facebook,” says Wahid. “I was pleased that it was widely liked.”

Wahid started to post all his work online, giving a step-by-step demonstration on how he formed his drawings. “I might compile white T-shirts to make a background, or use black trousers to make sunglasses,” he explains.

Om Kalthoum's face was Wahid's latest work and it drew more than 14,000 likes on Facebook. To show his artistic process, he hangs his mobile phone from the ceiling and films each stage of his drawing. “Then I post it using a stop motion technique,” he says.
