In cooperation with local security bodies, the Egyptian Armed Forces evacuated 650 housing units in Hurghada and Ras Ghareb that were illegally seized by other residents during the protests.
Residents from nearby settlements had seized 450 housing units, part of a subsidized national housing project, in several districts in Hurghada, as well as another 200 units in Ras Ghareb, southeast of Cairo.
The Armed Forces notified the Red Sea governor of the incident and warned violators that the housing units have owners who have already paid for the homes.
They military also said legal action will be taken against them if they attempt to seize the units again.
