Army closes Tahrir amid news of Brotherhood plan to storm the square

The army closed Tahrir Square to traffic on Sunday after receiving information that elements from the Muslim Brotherhood are planning to storm the square.

An official security source said security bodies received information that the Brotherhood are planning to occupy the square on Sunday, which might lead to clashes between them and local residents and shop owners.

The closure of the square is intended to prevent the breakout of such possible clashes, the source said.
