Dozens of protesters blocked the 6th October Bridge in both directions Monday afternoon, causing traffic jams, state-run news agency MENA reported.
The protesters also chanted slogans against the Muslim Brotherhood and called for President Mohamed Morsy's downfall.
Metro trains also came to a stop on the Helwan-Merg metro line after dozens of armed men stormed into the Sadat station in Tahrir, leading to stoppages for half an hour and to overcrowding in the station.
Protests are scheduled on Monday to mark the second anniversary of the ouster of ex-President Hosni Mubarak. Several political groups are taking part in the demonstrations, including Free Egyptians Party, Strong Egypt Party, Dostour Party, Social Democratic Party, April 6 Youth Movement and others.
Two marches are setting off from Al-Nour Mosque in Abbasseya and Rabea al-Adawiya in Nasr City towards Ettehadiya Palace, while two others from Fatah Mosque in Ramsis and Sayeda Zeinab are heading to Tahrir Square.
Meanwhile, the 6 April Youth Movement besieged the Public Prosecutor's office and the Egyptian Exchange headquarters to protest low conviction rates of those accused of killing protesters during the 18 days of protests that led to Mubarak's resignation in 2011.
