General Command of the Armed Forces issued a statement on Monday towards textile company and factory owners warning them not to import or manufacture clothes or fabrics similar to those used by the Egyptian armed forces and police, in order to preserve Egyptian national security and prevent terrorists from using military-like clothing during hostile attacks.
The armed and police forces took all the required measures to secure the land crossings and ports to prevent the entry of any clothes or fabrics similar to military or police uniforms, the statement said.
The armed forces added that the import or manufacture of such clothes was punishable under the law and called on citizens to report any violations in this regard.
