The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) has taken procedures to guarantee stability in the coming days ahead of the parliamentary elections slated to start on 28 November, informed sources have said.
The sources added that citizens will witness unprecedented security.
The plan, drawn up by the SCAF and to be implemented by the armed forces, includes securing each electoral district. All officers have been informed of the places that they will be in charge of, the sources said. The plan also includes procedures to be taken in cases of rioting and thuggery, without requiring the involvement of the central leadership.
Unit leaders, according to sources, inspected sites in constituencies that they will secure before and during the elections. The armed forces launched on Saturday campaigns to fight the security vacuum in some areas, the sources said, and campaigns will continue across the country in collaboration with police.
The armed forces, according to sources, are participating closely with police in securing the elections. They said that orders on how to deal with rioters and people carrying weapons have been issued to everyone.
