Today's emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers on the situation in Syria has been moved to a hotel near Cairo International Airport from the Arab League headquarters due to the protests in Tahrir Square, downtown Cairo.
The meeting comes as part of a series of meetings on the Syrian unrest.
Today ministers are expected to discuss the memorandum submitted Saturday by the league's Economic and Social Council of the Arab League to impose economic sanctions on the Syrian regime, after it refused to sign the protocol of the observer mission sent there.
The mission was sent in order to monitor the security situation there amid the ongoing violent crackdown on protesters.
