The Arab League on Sunday announced plans to hold the next Arab Peace Initiative Committee meeting this Wednesday. The meeting comes in the wake of US abandonment of pressure to stop Israeli settlement construction.
Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed Ben Helli said the date of the meeting was decided following consultations between Amr Moussa, Arab League secretary general, and Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim, Qatari Prime Minister and committee head.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will attend the meeting to review recent developments as well as proposals to advance the current situation.
