Approximately 15.7 million tourists visited Egypt in 2024

During the weekly press conference, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced promising figures regarding the number of incoming tourists for the past year.

Madbouly stated that the number of tourists visiting Egypt reached up to 15.7 million in 2024, adding that if it weren’t for regional events the number of tourists could have reached 18 million.

He expressed hope that 2025 will reach this target, especially with the expected official opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum this year.

The Egyptian Prime Minister affirmed that these are all targets that the government is working to achieve, by increasing the number of hotel rooms, explaining that, “We aim for a larger number this year than what was achieved last year, as we add new hotel rooms every year.”
