The Permanent Committee of Antiquities on Wednesday approved a suggestion by British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves to use radar devices in order to test the inner walls of Tutankhamun's tomb and find out if they contain hidden chambers.
Reeves believes Queen Nefertiti is buried in a hidden chamber inside the tomb.
Antiquities Minister Mamdouh al-Damaty said the committee made sure the devices would not damage the walls in any way.
Reeves will start his search as soon as he obtains all required permits, which would lead to the discovery of the century if he is right.
