Antiquities Minister Mamdouh al-Damaty has said that the ministry is being funded by its resources and that it does not get any funding from the state budget.
He indicated that the ministry's debt has reached LE3.7 billion.
During a session entitled “Our country’s monuments.. Hopes and Challenges” held at Ain Shams University, Damaty said he will travel to Germany next week to restore 240 artifacts, in addition to 10 other relics from Australia.
