Antiquities Minister Mamdouh al-Damaty has denied news reports about using laser to remove the epoxy that was used to glue the chin of the Tutankhamun mask.
He said in a statement on Wednesday that there is a committee of experts and specialists in restoration that will provide the best scientific proposals to restore the mask. “Proposals will be tested on replicas before applying them to the original,” he said.
He appealed to the media to observe accuracy in its coverage.
