General Sami Anan, military chief of staff, on Sunday met with Terry Wolff, a high ranking American military official, to discuss the importance of continuing joint military exercises between the two strategic allies, state-run MENA news agency has reported.
MENA added that in the meeting, Anan discussed with Wolff ways to improve bilateral military cooperation and to benefit from joint military exercises.
The American delegation also praised recent parliamentary elections, saying that they were clear and fair, according to the agency.
The United States has given Egypt an average of US$2 billion annually since 1979, much of it in military aid.
