Presidential candidate Amr Moussa on Sunday had breakfast with the dwellers of the Imam al-Shafi cemetery.
The breakfast was arranged by an NGO that helps shantytown and cemetery dwellers.
The dwellers were surprised to see Moussa and his campaigners visiting them. “If I win, cemeteries will only be for the dead,” he told them. “The living deserve proper housing.”
“It is a shame that there are more than two million people in a country like Egypt who live in cemeteries,” he said. “They are like a time bomb that would detonate if we don’t attend to their needs.”
