Amr Adib calls for legalizing cannabis in Egypt as painkiller

TV host Amr Adib called on Friday for legalizing cannabis as a painkiller in Egypt under the supervision of health authorities, similar to European countries.

During his show “al-Hekaya” (The Story), on MBC Masr Adib assured that he is not calling for making hashish use available at large, but only to legalize it as a medical drug in Egypt.

He pointed out that many European countries legalize the use of “cannabis oil” as a medical painkiller to relieve the pain of patients, especially cancer patients and advanced cases.

Adib explained that the standard painkillers in Egypt are not very effective, with the stronger ones only available at very high prices, therefore legalizing “cannabis” as a medical painkiller will make things easier for patients.
