The Alexandria International Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries (AIFF) kicks off on Sunday evening until October 5th, with an entire session dedicated to actress Elham Shaheen.
The opening ceremony will be held at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, set to the operetta “The Songs Are Still Possible,” conceived and directed by Mohamed Morsi, composed and arranged by Mohamed Mostafa, and starring a large group of Alexandria artists.
AIFF chose the short film “Fatima” for the opening film of the 39th session. The film was produced by last year’s festival grant for short films.
Up to 120 films from 25 countries will participate during this session. The festival honors a group of stars, and includes a scenario competition.
The festival is organized by the Egyptian Film Writers and Critics Association, whose board of directors is headed by critic Amir Abaza, and includes an array of long and short films from Mediterranean countries in Africa, Asia and Europe.
