Chairman of the Travel Agencies Association in Alexandria Ali al-Manestrli stated on Monday that the committee for studying development of the tourism sector would construct a touristic street in Alexandria similar to Cairo’s al-Moez Street.
Manesterly added that the committee has contacted with sponsorship companies to develop the street that would include clubs for musical concerts, shops and restaurants specialized in offering Italian, Greek and Egyptian cuisines.
Manesterly clarified that the committee would start the reconstruction works in January 2019.
He mentioned that the foreign tourists, notably from the United States, Italy, China and Japan, have occupied around 33 percent of Alexandria’s hotel rooms in 2018, noting that the Chinese tourists ranked first among tourists visiting Alexandria.
