Alexandra butchers face LE375,000 in fines for street slaughter

Police in the west of Alexandria have filed charges against 15 butchers on Wednesday over the slaughter of animals in the street during Eid al-Adha.
 
Each butcher should be fined LE25,000 in accordance to a resolution issued before Eid by the Alexandria governor.
 
If proven guilty, the butchers should pay a total of LE375,000 in fines.
 
In related news, local authorities of the west of Alexandria conducted a crackdown on violators in the area and seized two horses as part of an operation in Qabbari district.
