Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit asserted that the AL is working on coordinating efforts of its member state to be open to national experiences to protect the environment and achieve sustainability in addition to encouraging innovation in the productive sector towards the wanted green transition.
This came in Abul Gheit’s word that was read out on his behalf by AL Assistant Secretary General Ahmed Rashid Khattabi during the inauguration of the forum of sustainability and government action organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) in Cairo on Monday.
The world is interested in green economy in the different international and regional gatherings, he said.
This action demands strong partnership between the private sector, the NGOs and the governmental sector to achieve sustainability and maintain important systems, Abul Gheit said.
He reiterated that the concept of green economy has socio-economic requirements and is connected with improving the economy and social economy in addition limiting the environmental risks and improving the opportunities of equality to achieve sustainable development.
