Sources close to the Salafi Al-Watan Party said the party has withdrawn from the pro-Morsy National Alliance to Support Legitimacy, led by the Muslim Brotherhood, due to the alliance rejecting all reconciliation initiatives that Al-Watan Party had proposed and objecting to it running in the coming parliamentary elections.
The sources also said that Salafi elders are mediating between the party and the Salafi Al-Nour Party, especially as most members of Al-Watan are dissidents from Al-Nour.
They added that other Islamist parties in the alliance are also unpleased with the Brotherhood’s control.
