The privately-owned Al-Nahar TV channel announced on Saturday the suspension of its show “al-Gomhoreya al-Gadeda” (the New Republic), as well as suspending the program’s presenter, Mona al-Omda.
The channel is investigating Omda, along with the work team and those responsible for the show over work ethics violations.
It explained in a statement that it noted several violations in one of the last episodes of the program, and decided to halt it until it is returned to the right track or else be canceled permanently.
The channel affirmed its constant keenness to provide content based on professional standards in accordance with what is approved by work ethics and the codes regulating media work.
