Justice Minister Ahmed al-Zend said Salah Diab, founder of Al-Masry Al-Youm, repaid every penny of the government’s dues.
In an interview aired on privately-owned channel Sada al-Balad on Wednesday, the minister said the reports against Diab he received proved to be inaccurate.
He added that around 150 investment issues with values reaching LE17-18 billion were settled.
In November, Diab and his son Tawfik, the CEO of PICO International Petroleum, were arrested over charges of unlicensed arms possession and financial corruption.
