Al-Azhar University expels 12 students for instigating protests

Al-Azhar University expelled 12 students on Tuesday, who are being interrogated over charges of instigating protests.
 
The students were also prevented from attending the current second term exams.
 
Al-Azhar University has seen occasional encounters between security and students loyal to ousted president Mohamed Morsi over the past year. 
 
Several students were expelled from Egyptian universities over their involvement in anti-government protests since Morsi’s removal.
