Aid to Gaza piling up at Al-Arish and border crossing due to Israel: Egyptian Foreign Minister

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry warned that humanitarian aid to Gaza in Al-Arish and the border crossing has been piling up and are unable to pass due to Israel’s inspection procedures.

Shoukry explained, in a meeting with his British counterpart David Cameron, that the current situation in Gaza is unacceptable and the Security Council must bear its responsibility for the destruction that befell the Strip, noting that the Arab Islamic Group deals with the Security Council’s flexibility, RT Arabic reported.

Up to 8,000 Palestinian children were killed in Gaza, he lamented, explaining that politics cannot rise above humanitarian considerations.

Cameron on his end said that Britain does not use double standards regarding the situations in Gaza and Ukraine, and noted that Israel was subjected to attacks such as  in July 7 and September 11.

The security of the Red Sea plays a crucial role to the world to ensure that global trade is not affected, the British official added, stressing that Iran must stop supporting groups that threaten navigation in the Red Sea.
