Ahly Club’s board, presided over by Hassan Hamdy, declared on Monday they will form a committee to prepare for celebrations for obtaining the title of the club with highest number of continental championships.
The committee will be headed by Mahmoud al-Khatib, vice-chief of the club, and membership of Hesham Saeed and Khaled al-Darandaly.
According to the official website of Ahly on Monday, the committee will start work within the coming period of time to organize for the celebration as well as match with an international team.
Ahly topped the list of clubs that won the continental championships in the world after obtaining the title of African Super Club. It obtained 19 titles compared to Italy’s AC Milan Club, which received 18 titles.
Ahly beat Tunisia’s Sfaxien Club 3-2 on Thursday and won the African Super Cup for the sixth time in history.
Ahly Club won the local league for 36 times, the local cup for 35 times and African championships for 19 times.
