Ahly approaches CAF Champions League final by defeating the Algeria’s ES Setif

Egypt’s Al-Ahly club succeeded in achieving a deserved victory over Algeria’s ES Setif, with four clean goals during their Saturday evening showdown at al-Salam Stadium, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.

Defending champion Ahly is close to touching the finals, awaiting the second leg of the semi-final in Algeria.

Ahly’s goals were scored by Percy Tau in the minutes 29 and 90, Taher Mohamed Taher in 63 and Mohamed Sharif in 71.

Ahly played the match with a formation of Mohamed El-Shennawy, goalkeeper, with Mohamed Hani in front, and Yasser Ibrahim, Ayman Ashraf, Ali Maaloul, Aliou Diang, Hamdi Fathi, Taher Mohamed Taher, Ahmed Abdelkader, Hussein El-Shahat and Percy Tau.

Ahly started the match with a quick attack in order to score the first goal, and after three minutes had passed, Taher Mohamed Taher managed to score the first goal for Ahly, but the referee of the match canceled the goal scored by Al-Ahly in the third minute due to the infiltration of Taher Mohamed Taher.

ES Setif played with ten players after the red card to player Amir Karaoui for his violent interference with Hussein el-Shahat.
