Agriculture Min., UAE Amb Review Enhancing Agricultural Cooperation

Agriculture Minister Alaa Farouk had talks on Wednesday 17/7/2024 with UAE Ambassador in Cairo Mariam Khalifa Alkaabi on means of enhancing bilateral relations in the field of agricultural investments.

This falls within the framework of the political leadership’s directives to facilitate measures for investors as well as the Egyptian-UAE strategic partnership.

Farouk commended the growing UAE investments in Egypt in various domains, including the agricultural sector, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Sheikh Mohamed ben Zayed Al Nahayan.

The minister reviewed available investment opportunities in various agricultural scores, especially agricultural manufacturing which contributes to creating more jobs and localize technology and industry.

Farouk underlined the importance of exchanging expertise, increasing agricultural exports and commodities exchange and enhancing cooperation in the field of improving breeds for more meat and dairy production.

For her part, Kaabi congratulated the agriculture minister for assuming his post, voicing hope to enhance cooperation in the coming period.

Kaabi underlined her country’s interest in boosting investments in Egypt in various domains, especially in food security score.

She referred to the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.

Farouk noted that Egypt ranks no 1 globally in date production, referring to establishing the largest palm farm in the world in Toshka area.

He noted that cooperation with the UAE could magnify exportation and manufacturing of dates.

Farouk and Kaabi asserted the importance of removing all obstacles facing UAE investors in various agricultural domains.
