Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk asserted Egypt’s readiness to present all aspects of support to Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) to achieve its goals and contribute to presenting expertise and building the capabilities of its member states.
During the Egyptian minister’s meeting with IOFS Director General Berik Aryn on Wednesday 27/11/2024 on the sidelines of his participation in World Food Summit held in Abu Dhabi, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Agricultural and the IOFS in the coming period.
During the meeting, Farouk reviewed Egyptian efforts to achieve food security, in light of international challenges that affected supply chains of food around the world.
Egypt achieved self-sufficiency in some strategic crops and exports the surplus to more than 160 markets around the world, he said.
